Today is the
last
chemo treatment...tomorrow the
last
radiation...So glad it's almost behind him but still a little anxious...they won't do the MRI for five weeks...as the radiation will still be "doing its thing" for a while...won't know until then if all is well.
He has gained back 4 of the 23 pounds he lost...taking his liquid nourishment 4 times a day instead of 3, as in the past. The doctor said he should have recovered 40% in the next 4 - 6 weeks...then the recovery slows down a bit. ...suggested that he not begin therapy on "swallowing" for about a month...after which time his mouth and throat should be healed....we're anxious to start.
We are so very grateful for all who spend time in prayer for us...God is good and, regardless of the final outcome, "does not forsake his faithful ones."
April, 2009 Our 56th. Wedding Anniversary....Wilhelmina Lodge, Rich Mt., Ark.
Thankful! May Bob's body be doubly nourished on anything he can take in, may his body rest doubly on any rest he receives, may healing begin in double measure. Love, hugs and continued prayer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious sight. You have been such a wonderful caretaker for our dad. I look forward to dad's full recovery. I love you both. Laura
