My Man
Oh, my man, I love him so
He'll never know
All my life is just despair
But I don't care
when he takes me in his arms
The world is bright all right.
What's the difference if I say
I'll go away
When I know I'll come back on my knees someday
For whatever my man is
I am his
forever more
Our "Care Group"
What a nice surprise when I opened my email this am...Our care group met last night and took this picture for us...with this message:"Here are a couple of pictures we took at CG tonight to send to you all. We talked about you & prayed for you & wanted you all to know how much we miss you."
We meet every third Saturday...eat together, pray together, and just talk and enjoy one another. A few of us also meet after church on the first Sunday of the month...bring our lunch and just "share". Seven of them have been by to visit at different times the last couple of months. We sure miss them.

It's Finally Here
Today is the
last
chemo treatment...tomorrow the
last
radiation...So glad it's almost behind him but still a little anxious...they won't do the MRI for five weeks...as the radiation will still be "doing its thing" for a while...won't know until then if all is well.
He has gained back 4 of the 23 pounds he lost...taking his liquid nourishment 4 times a day instead of 3, as in the past. The doctor said he should have recovered 40% in the next 4 - 6 weeks...then the recovery slows down a bit. ...suggested that he not begin therapy on "swallowing" for about a month...after which time his mouth and throat should be healed....we're anxious to start.
We are so very grateful for all who spend time in prayer for us...God is good and, regardless of the final outcome, "does not forsake his faithful ones."

Sweet Memories
I removed yesterdays posts...'felt that this is much better.
"I Know There Is Sorrow Where Laughter Once Played,
And Lingering Tears Causing Gladness To Fade.
But There's A Sweet Comfort Our Memories Impart,
So Always Remember I'm There In Your Heart."

Acts of Kindness
"Friendship doubles our joy and divides our grief."
A dear friend (Liz Bushong) dropped by unexpectedly today and brought with her two lovely pillows that she had made for us. Bob's says
"For the Lord loves the just, and will not forsake his Faithful ones. Psalms 37:28"
"Let us hold unswervingly to the Hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23"
The white neck pillow was made for Bob by another dear friend, Becky Tubbs. He uses it every day...
What can I say? Such encouragement!

Mans Best Friend
Where Did Pets Come From?
"And Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me every day. Now I do not see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me."
And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will know I love you, even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish and childish and unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourself."
And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam. And it was a good animal. And God was pleased.
And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "But Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and all the good names are taken and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."
And God said, "No problem! Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."
And Dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and loved him. And Adam was comforted. And God was pleased. And Dog was content and wagged his tail.
After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens like a peacock and he believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility."
And the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know that he is not worthy of adoration."
And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam. And Cat would not obey Adam.
And when Adam gazed into Cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was not the supreme being. And Adam learned humility.
And God was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved.
And Cat did not care one way or the other."
Laura's puppies are going to new homes this weekend so last night she and Laura Beth made the hour drive to bring them over for her Daddy to see.
This one has blue eyes!

Laura
It occurred to me that I have posted very few pictures of our daughter, Laura. She lives in Canton, Tx., about an hour (by car) east of Dallas..she is secretary to the pastor of the First Baptist Church there...she loves animals...she is tenderhearted but strong, someone you want and need when things are not going well.....like her dad she is practical, introspective, knows who she is and what she believes......she is devoted to her four children
and she is a cancer survivor...10 years now...God is good!
..with her son, Jason....
at Kellers Drive-In with two of her daughters, Heather and Summer
long ago...1971 she's always been a beautiful girl... inside and out...
